The Department of African American Studies department at the local university has twelve professors. All of them are African American and ten of them are female. A male Caucasian applicant applies for a position and is not accepted. Though he was treated very well in the interviews and person hired was of approximate qualifications, he still believes there is a potential discrimination issue. Is he possibly right? Explain. What would we call it if he was hired, but was given a highly unfavorable schedule, the worst office, and the most demanding committee assignments, which ultimately resulted in him quitting due to the toll it took on him?
